He was famous for being a great archer and swordsman and for being an outlaw who stole from the rich and gave to the poor. It's also one of the most famous adventure medieval story, for all ages
Robin Hood used to live in Nottingham shire with his father but he later had to take refuge in Sherwood forest with the outlaws.
After his father being killed by the sheriff of Notingham, Robin Loxley (who came back from the third crusade in israel) together with Azeem (a man who ownes his life to robin hood for relising him from the prison), Decided to go to live in Sherwood forest and join the outlaws (their leader called Jhon Little), later he becomes their leader and they decide to steal from the rich and give to the poor. But truble is coming because the sheriff, Sir Guy of Guisborne and Mortiana (a witch who rised the sheriff) are going to stop at nothing to destroy Robin Hood (the nickname they gave him). Meanwhile Robin wants to marry Lady Marian but she's allways protected and guarded by the sheriff, who also is in love with her.
Prince of thieves is a good Robin Hood movie but, I recomend you to see the last movie about Robin Hood, wich is actually called just plain "Robin Hood" it was made by Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Alien and Blade runner). This movie has more action and is more modern. Here you can watch the trailer:
