My last summer vacation

As usually we do a oral presentation about our last summer. Here you have the video. The writing will be uploaded in a short period.

The last movie I've seen

The last movie I've seen is called Doctor Strangelove. It's one of the first films by Stanley Kubrik (the director of 2001: odyssey in space, the shinning and clockwork orange) and the movie was in black and white. In the cast there's the famous comedy actor Peter Sellers, who interprets three diferent characters. The movie is a critical view about the cold war. So I should tell you a bit about the plot: in the film, an American army general decides to order some planes to attack Russia with atomic bombs accusing comunists to have poisoned water. He also shuts down all comunications in the military base and tells his men to shoot anyone who comes closer than five miles to the base. The planes' radio system has a password (wich only the general knows) so nobody can contact them either. The president of the U.S.A, the ambassador of Russia, a German scientist called Dr. Strangelove (Peter Sellers) and other high rank officials will have to find a solution to a closer coming nuclear catastrophe.

New sequels this term!

This fall new sequels of great movies (and also new great movies) are awaiting here I'll show you some of my favourites:

Sin City: a dame to kill for

A return to the highly-stylised, hyper-violent world of Frank Miller's Sin City comics. A film that should be visually captivating, capturing the neo-noir aesthetic of the comics, but with very little heart.

Ender's Game

Based on a great science-ficition book. It is the story of a military school were kids play increasingly difficult war games. The kids are trained to be battle comanders in the battle  between earth and an alien enemy. One kid distinguishes himself from the others...

Catching fire

The second book of the hunger games series explains how Katniss Everdeen is forced back into the hunger game's arena. Meanwhile the rebellion begins in the districts and Katniss is it's simbol. But will she be able to survive the hunger games again?

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Many peoplefound that watching the first part of The Hobbit, filmed using ultra-fast 48 frames-per-second 3D technology, made them feel so nauseous that they wanted to vomit. If that was not the case for you, here is the second episode in Peter Jackson's trilogy about young Bilbo Baggins...and this time, there's a dragon!

Futuristic food

A Japanese restaurant in England wants to serve food on flying trays. Employees at the restaurant will guide the trays to tables using an iPad. The "iTrays" are made of carbon fibre and can fly 11 metres per second. If you don't blieve it watch the video online.

Global warming (TdS 2n d'ESO)

1. What is global warming?

The global warming is the rise of temperatures that is still continuing that started in the 20th century. The global warming is a normal event in our planet wich makes speicies' evolution possible, because life forms have to adapt at the new climate. But nowadays global warming is going to fast as an effect of all the pollution that humans create. If this happens too fast, we won't have time to adapt at the new climate.

2.What is the process involved in the greenhouse effect?

Usually when the sun's radiation enters the earth it's reflected some of it is reflected back by the atmosphere. But now, because of the pollution, the heat that reaches earth is kept there by the greenhouse gases that crowd the atmosphere making the temperatures rise. So, if there is more pollution the temperature will rise higher causing catastrophic events in all live on earth.

 3. What signs warn us about global warmming?

- The rise of temperatures in the last decade.
- The melting of the glaciars is a clear evidence that the temperatures are rising
- Some sepicies are in peril of exticntion since they can't adapt to the new climate.

 4. Can you quote another term for global warming? Climate change

5. Watch the video and explain this idea: Global warming: panic or reality?

Many people belive that the global warming isn't real and that the scientists have no proof. Well, you just need to do a little research and you'll see that "the evidence is vast" and that the global warming is an important problem.

6. What can we do to stop global warming? Suggest five ideas.

1.We shuold stop using resources that are limited and pollute. For example: oil, wich is our basic source of energy nowadays.

2.We should use clean and renewable energies that can't harm our planet since they're natural and come from it and that are unlimited. Humanity could use the elements like heat, wind and water to create the energies they need. These are the main projects that I think that are the less ambiental- harming projectsthat create most energy, but remember that there are many other renewable energies apart from this ones.

 - Sun plant: We could use the light of the sun to warm these plants that you can see here that then transform the heat into electrical energy.

- Wind and sea turbines: This is one of the simplest renewable energies. Wind power turns the turbines around and creates enregy, the sea turbines work the same way but they use the force of the sea currents.

3. The main problem is transport, since cars and planes use oil. There's already many types of electrical cars and tecnology is already working on making them faster and better. But working on electrical planes is harder and will take much time, but we shouldn't worry, Nasa is already working on that. If people want a cleaner planet they should by electrical cars.

4.We shouldn't use our cars that much, we should travel by foot or bike when possible, or if not, use the public transport.

5.Last of all, we should stop making that much litter and we shouldn't throw it anywhere, destroying beautiful places and harming many animals.

Hi, My name is Enric To Gassiot and I live in South London in England. I like the city were I live, so I want to improve it. I think that there isn’t any place for young people to go there aren’t any facilities. As a result, young people spend all their free time hanging around on the street. There are sometimes problems with vandalism and graffiti. I think the council should fix this problem. I’m sure they have a small house or apartment, which young people could use for a youth cafĂ© project. Enric To Gassiot

my summer

Hello my name is Enric and I'm going to talk to you about my Summer holidays.
First I’m going to tHello my name is Enric and I'm going to talk to you about my Summer holidays.

First I’m going to talk about the week that I spent in Paris. Since we are in crisis we went to Paris by car (that's 9 or 10 hours inside a car!). I went to Paris with my family and we rented an apartment.

In Paris we went to a lot of clothing shops and we got really tired for walking a lot but  the food in France is really good . We also went to the Fnac, which is a really big shopping center were they sell books, movies, computers and video games.

We had a great time in Paris and we saw the Mona Lisa visited the Louvre and went to the Sainte Chapelle, etc. And at the end of our trip we went to the Eiffel tower and we saw really impressive sights.

When we went back from Paris we went to our grandfathers' summerhouse in a lonely and calm village called Tortella during a week and it was really hot (but they have a very big town pool).

Some friends from other countries also came to visit us from Israel and Switzerland and stayed a few days. And the days I was in Banyoles I met my friends and went to the pool.

So I had a very good Summer!

My school

I go to a private school called “Escola Casa Nostra”. It’s really big, but just few students go there. There are about a hundred students in the school and 12 or 13 teachers.

There’s a big technology workshop a laboratory, an ITC room, an English room with many computers and a really small gymnasium.

My favorite lessons are PE, English project and technology class. We have gigantic playground, with a three football fields, two basketball fields, a mountain bike circuit and a rugby field. We even have a swimming pool, but we never use it!
