New sequels this term!

This fall new sequels of great movies (and also new great movies) are awaiting here I'll show you some of my favourites:

Sin City: a dame to kill for

A return to the highly-stylised, hyper-violent world of Frank Miller's Sin City comics. A film that should be visually captivating, capturing the neo-noir aesthetic of the comics, but with very little heart.

Ender's Game

Based on a great science-ficition book. It is the story of a military school were kids play increasingly difficult war games. The kids are trained to be battle comanders in the battle  between earth and an alien enemy. One kid distinguishes himself from the others...

Catching fire

The second book of the hunger games series explains how Katniss Everdeen is forced back into the hunger game's arena. Meanwhile the rebellion begins in the districts and Katniss is it's simbol. But will she be able to survive the hunger games again?

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Many peoplefound that watching the first part of The Hobbit, filmed using ultra-fast 48 frames-per-second 3D technology, made them feel so nauseous that they wanted to vomit. If that was not the case for you, here is the second episode in Peter Jackson's trilogy about young Bilbo Baggins...and this time, there's a dragon!

Futuristic food

A Japanese restaurant in England wants to serve food on flying trays. Employees at the restaurant will guide the trays to tables using an iPad. The "iTrays" are made of carbon fibre and can fly 11 metres per second. If you don't blieve it watch the video online.

Wakeboarding in Australia

These two Australians are wakeboarding in a field! The boys decided  to have fun in the floods caused by the tropical cyclone Oswald. In some places, water was moving at 70 km/h. It was dangerous...but perfect for inventing a new water sports.

Clean nose

If you push this nose, shower gel will come out of nostril! The gel exists in many different colours, but we think green is the best one!

The Host

This is the film of a book by Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight series. There are no vampires this time- Earth has been infiltrated by parasitic aliens called "souls", wich possess humans. There's a love story, of course, between a boy and a "soul". Twilight fans will be happy!

MUSE

MUSE is a new electro-rock band wich was inspired by Led Zepelin (both of them are british) that has been very popular in the past years. After touring the USA and Canada, the English rock group will arrive in May. They will play in big stadiums in England, France, Spain and Italy and then go to Japan and Brazil. After all that, Muse will need a holiday!

Rosa Parks: The woman who said no

Rosa Parks is a black women who just has a normal life. In the 1st of December of 1955. She's going back home on the bus. A white passenger enters the bus, and because she's black she has to give up her seat but she says "NO"

Immediatley Rosa is arrested and sent to prison. Black citizens were angry so they decided to protest. They wouldn't take the bus. 75% of bus passengers were black so, without them buses would lose money.

Finally, segregation on buses was abolished and for the first time, black and white people could sit together on a bus. This was a small victory but it sparked the civil rights movement that was soon to come with the civil rights legend, Martin Luther King Jr.

Les Misérables

Victor Hugo's Les Misérables is one of the most popular novels of all time. Now you can see the new musical film. An innocent man, Jean Valjean, escapes prison and wants to start a new life. But police inspector Javert is looking for him. Anne Hathaway also stars in the film as Fantime. And the best thing is that she's a fantastic singer!

iRock

This rocking chair is called the iRock. The rocking movement generates electricity and it also has a pair of speakers. So now, you can relax and recharge your iPod at the same time.

Snake cake

English woman Francesca Pitcher made this cake for her daughter's birthday. She was inspired by real albino python that she had seen at London Zoo. The problem was that nobody at the birthday party wanted to eat it. It looked too much like a snake, and not enough like a cake!

My school

I go to a private school called “Escola Casa Nostra”. It’s really big, but just few students go there. There are about a hundred students in the school and 12 or 13 teachers.

There’s a big technology workshop a laboratory, an ITC room, an English room with many computers and a really small gymnasium.

My favorite lessons are PE, English project and technology class. We have gigantic playground, with a three football fields, two basketball fields, a mountain bike circuit and a rugby field. We even have a swimming pool, but we never use it!

We love scones

Tea time! It's 4 o'clock in the afternoon in England, time for scones with jam and cream but scones are not normally this size! This is the world's biggest scone, made by bakery in Devon, England. The scone weighed 45 kg and had 16 kg of cream and 9 kg of jam. Can we try?

royal ascot: funny hats

Royal ascot is a big horse racing event in England. It lasts for one week, and the Queen will be there. But the media looks more at what people wear than the racing! Men wear formal clothes including top hats, and ladies wear eccentric hats. Would you wear a hat like this?

V is for vendetta

This is a typical must-see movie. Believe me it's really good (made by Alan Moore the creator of watchmen). On this movie set in a future UK under dictation a young women discovers "V" a man who wants to change society. At first sight people will think he's a madman but they will start to know that something is wrong and things must change

What is Garry's MOD?

Garry's MOD isn't a game it's a program for creating 3D games or movies they give you the tools and from there you can do almost everything. If you want to see an example of a Garry's MOD video search "TF2 air on youtube, It's really funny.

007: Skyfall

The new movie of James Bond is sure going to be really cool (check out the trailer on youtube).
The latest actor representing 007 is Daniel Craig and he's a really good actor (remember Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace). This action movie is going to be the hit of 2012

Axe cop!

Don't think this is a bloody and violent comic. Axe cop was written by a five year old kid (now 8)  and it became really popular and it won lots of awards (it's a meaningless but funny comic). You can read it online in the website www.axecop.com. Give it a try, it's really good.
